Development Database Administrator
POSITION Development Database Administrator, Alumni & Development Office, Western Reserve Academy POSITION SUMMARY Reporting to the Assistant Head of School for Advancement and the Director of the Annual Fund, the Development Database Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Raiser’s Edge database and how it relates to all fundraising and constituency relations programs. Duties will include data entry for gifts and pledges, constituency information, and reports. We seek an energetic, self-motivated, and detail-oriented professional to manage our Raiser’s Edge system. Two years of hands-on database management experience is required. Raiser’s Edge experience is preferred, however, we will provide advanced R.E. training for an otherwise qualified candidate. Please note – this position also involves a great deal of interaction with a diverse community of staff, faculty, students/ families, and volunteers. The successful candidate will demonstrate an ability to effectively communicate with our constituency and to work collaboratively with colleagues in the Development Office to ensure the achievement of departmental goals. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Database Management, Analysis and Reporting: - Responsible for the management and integrity of the data in Western Reserve Academy’s Raiser’s Edge database - Respond to requests for queries, reports, exports and mailing lists for internal and external use - Create customized Crystal Reports for specialized advancement reports - Maintain constituent information; establish routines with development team to assure accuracy in donor records Gift Entry, Acceptance and Acknowledgement: - Ensure timely and accurate gift entry based on CASE management and reporting standards, as well as the generation of all acknowledgment letters - Work with other office personnel to guarantee a seamless process for the effective and timely entry of constituent data and the recording of gifts, including pledge reminders - Evaluate and continuously improve gift input procedures; follow standard routine for checking accuracy and completeness of data. St. Charles Preparatory School
Director of the Annual Fund
Under the supervision of the Director of Development, the Director of the Annual Fund is responsible for helping to significantly advance the fund raising related activities of St. Charles Preparatory School by developing overall goals and strategies for securing annual gifts to the School. Working with the Principal, the Director of Development, and the Director of Alumni and Public Relations, the Director of the Annual Fund assists in supervising and directing the activities of the development office. This position is expected to use personal judgment in carrying out routine duties and responsibilities. This job description reflects management’s assignment of essential job responsibilities; it does not prescribe or restrict the tasks that may be assigned. All the duties and standards within this job description will be performed according to the established policies, procedures, and guidelines outlined in the School’s policy and procedures manuals. ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Work with the Director of Development in the preparation of an annual budget for the Development Office. 2. Work with the Director of Development in the preparation of annual fund-raising goals and objectives within the operating budget. 3. In conjunction with the Director of Development, lead the advancement and implementation of annual giving strategies, fund raising programs, activities, and timelines to solicit gifts from alumni, friends, parents, faculty, staff, students, and other constituents. Must possess vision and leadership to develop and move the annual giving program to new levels. 4. Develop, manage, and maintain an ongoing portfolio of 150 to 200 Annual Fund prospects who have the ability and capacity to consider a current annual gift to St. Charles. Candidate will maintain independent responsibility for developing and executing solicitation strategies for each assigned prospect. 5. Conduct 150 to 200 personal visits throughout the fiscal year, 20 per month, over ten of the twelve months of the fiscal year. 6. Conduct Peer Screening sessions with targeted alumni yielding names of prospective donors or current donors who would have the capacity to consider increasing their annual support to eventual Cardinal Society within a given fiscal year. 7. In conjunction with the Student Council Moderator and the Director of Alumni and Public Relations, oversee other fundraising efforts like Reunion Giving, the Cardinal Walk, and the Parents and Alumni Annual Fund including preparation of written solicitations, marketing materials, and volunteer management. 8. Utilize, develop, and implement the segmentation strategies and tools to be used for annual giving direct mail, internet, and phonathon campaigns. 9. Collaborate with the Director of Alumni and Public Relations on marketing efforts to increase alumni participation rate. 10. Grow and build the Cardinal Society which includes stewarding the current donors, planning recognition events, and creating marketing efforts to encourage participation. 11. Assist in the creation of reports to track annual giving appeals and Annual Fund progress, and serve as a point person for questions regarding annual giving best practices. 12. Collaborate with the Director of Alumni and Public Relations regarding content management on the Saint Charles giving websites. 13. In consultation with the Principal, the Director of Development, and the Director of Alumni and Public Relations, promote the mission and image of St. Charles Preparatory School. 14. Assist the Director of Development in the preparation of an annual report to be submitted to the Principal and Advisory Board on the state of the Development Office and monthly reports at regularly scheduled Advisory Board meetings. 15. Maintain professional affiliations and enhance professional growth and development to keep abreast of the latest trends in education fundraising. 16. Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin School
Director of Advancement
Notre Dame Cathedral Latin School (NDCL) in Geauga County, a Catholic, coeducational college preparatory school sponsored by the Sisters of Notre Dame, seeks a successful, dynamic and mission oriented Director of Advancement with proven experience as a major gifts officer. In addition to collaborating with an engaged President, the Board of Directors, and the Board Advancement Committee, the Director of Advancement devotes at least 50% of his/her time cultivating and soliciting major donors. The Director of Advancement supervises a small staff and provides strategic direction for all fundraising, marketing and public relations events and endeavors. A team building style with a demonstrated ability to lead and energize staff is essential to this position. The preferred candidate requires background with a strong annual giving program, including leadership level giving. Capital campaign experience is a plus since NDCL is currently engaged in a successful $4.5 million campaign which has attained more than half of its goal in just over three years. Five to ten years of progressively greater fundraising responsibility, with at least five of the years in a leadership role in an area of fundraising or foundation management, is the minimal expectation for a successful candidate. The Cleveland Foodbank is seeking a dynamic, passionate individual to lead fundraising efforts for the organization. The person in the position will lead a staff of seven in their efforts to raise $10 million a year to alleviate hunger by providing food and support to community organizations that feed the hungry. Projects under supervision include the annual Harvest for Hunger campaign, a 21 county effort that collects both food and dollars for the benefit of local hunger programs; mission and programmatic fundraising through direct mail, grant writing and major gifts; and efforts to grow the Foodbank’s endowment.
